Commissions

Commission work within the parish community is becoming increasingly important. The decline of the number of priests and women religious, the increasing needs, and the growing complexity of today's parish demand a greater ownership by the people of the parish. Commissions exist to enable all to respond to the call of the Lord, to meet the demands of the Gospel, carry out the mission of the church and the Parish of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said to his apostles, "Come follow me" (Matthew 4:19), and so it should be with us. Following Jesus means to serve others. Being on a commission is an opportunity to serve.
