"SPRED"
Symbolic
Religious Education or formally known as “special person’s
religious education development”
SPRED is a program
of religious education specifically designed to meet the spiritual
needs of persons with disabilities. The goal of the program is to
provide a community of worship offering individuals an opportunity
to grow in their faith. Each friend is paired with a helper catechist.
We have a small craft or work activity time to develop our symbol.
Some individuals may be able to work independently or may require
total assistance, we are here to work beside you or to assist you
what ever the need may be. Our symbol is then tied into the bible
reading and we join together for prayer and reflection. We use hands
on and music during our worship time to make it meaningful for the
friends. We are able to accommodate anyone willing to grow in their
faith.
The group has
been together for the past fifteen years and we are always looking
for new friends to join and share with us. We meet on Monday Nights
from 6 pm-7 pm, 1-3 times a month, follow the school calendar. We
also attend the 9:00 am Fairfield weekend Liturgy together as often
as possible. If you have any questions or are interested in the
joining our group please call. If no answer please leave a message
and I will get back to you. Rose Adams 453-2112
