Symbolic Religious Education or “Special Person’s Religious Education Development”
SPRED is a program of religious education specifically designed to meet the spiritual needs of persons with disabilities. The goal of the program is to provide a community of worship offering individuals an opportunity to grow in their faith. Each friend is paired with a helper catechist. We have a small craft or work activity time to develop our symbol. Some individuals may be able to work independently or may require total assistance, we are here to work beside you or to assist you what ever the need may be. Our symbol is then tied into the bible reading and we join together for prayer and reflection. We use hands on and music during our worship time to make it meaningful for the friends. We are able to accommodate anyone willing to grow in their faith.
The group has been together for the past fifteen years and we are always looking for new friends to join and share with us. If you have any questions or are interested in the joining our group please contact Rose Adams: 453-2112
